The patriot warrior club has held an event for the past few years at Monroe Township high school in honor of our local veterans called armed forces day. The club's mission is to connect with and help local war veterans and organizations. So far during the club's existence here at the highschool they have held fundraisers and events to help them. There fundraisers are all sources from the local veterans to help give back even more and even their events give money to local organizations. Overall the patriot warrior club hasn’t gone unnoticed for all their good deeds.
Similar to all the years in the past, this year's armed forces was a success! The club and teachers in charge made sure the day went smoothly despite its unexpected weather conditions. The event started with a beautiful service in honor of the veterans. Then, continued with thrilling field day-like games all completed by the class of 2024 seniors. Each group was broken off into a different military group known as the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Only four groups competed for first place with one group full of the schools and club’s volunteers(The coast guard). They played games like basketball, relay races, tug of war and more. Each game would award points to the first(5), second(3), and third(1).
In the end one team went from the underdogs to the winners of the event. Originally in last place to start the day ending with first overall and winning the whole day.The navy full of brightminded and Athletic individuals came out on top and won first place.
Watching this day unfold you get to see Monroe township high schools' patriotic spirit and honor for our country and local veterans truly shine. The event in its entirety was a day of excitement, remembrance and overall joy. We got to see both the senior class and veterans light up as the day went on. The seniors got to reminisce of their elementary school field days while taking part in their final field day. They shared laughs and memories during the day and it was truly an overall wholesome and wonderful experience.
Thank you to the Monroe township volunteers and students who got to spread such a wonderful tribute to our local veterans and seniors!
