The popular “Ellen DeGeneres Show” started its 10th season on September 10, and it seems that more and more people are starting to become addicted to the daytime television star.
The entire first week of her new season was referred to as ‘Premiere Week’. Celebrities including P!nk, Patrick Dempsey, the Fab 5, Sophia Grace, Rosie O’Donnell, Katy Perry, and the First Lady Michelle Obama made appearances.
DeGeneres is famous for her helping hand, loving to give back to people who deserve it.
“I watch Ellen everyday and she inspires me to be a better person. She is always trying to help people in any way she can and she is a genuinely good person. Whenever I see her helping people and whenever she is kind to someone who does amazing things, it makes me feel good.” says sophomore Taylor Zeni.
In late June, DeGeneres found Sherry Gahn, principal of Whitney Elementary in Nevada, who was helping needy children in her school. Gahn was offering to pay the bills for families of her students who did not have the money. DeGeneres donated $100,000 to Gahn after hearing her inspirational story. She was also able to get Target to donate an entire school’s worth of supplies to the children.
“Ellen is a constant inspiration to people everywhere. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what kind of person you are, because Ellen will find a way to inspire you. In addition to helping so many people, she can always make you laugh and feel good about yourself,” says sophomore Samantha Fasbach.
DeGeneres is able to inspire people all over the country with her television show. After every show, she reminds the audience to “be kind to one another.” Also, she takes a little bit of time out of the show to dance.
“Somehow she makes me smile in every episode. No matter what kind of day I am having, Ellen always manages to make me feel better,” says sophomore Catarina Santo.
