Kimye finally ties the knot

by CAROLINE GAVURA Section Editor

Ever since the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” episode aired of Kanye West proposing to Kim Kardashian at AT&T Park in San Francisco with a rock the size of a small child, the public could not wait for the pair to get hitched.

The two exchanged vows in what I thought would not be in their DNA – a private ceremony at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy on May 24, 2013. It is rumored the couple picked Florence because that is the city in which their baby, North, was conceived.

Ever since then, there has been nonstop rumors about how fabulous this event actually was, from stories about golden toilets to guests’ names engraved in marble tables.

What is known for sure is that the two fashion icons were dressed in head-to-toe Givenchy, and looked so good in their wedding pictures they broke the record for the most likes on an Instagram picture with 1.92 million likes.

Kim wore an elegant Givenchy Haute Couture lace gown with a long silk veil, and Kanye wore a custom-made Givenchy tuxedo.

“Kim looked breathtaking! I’m so glad she went with a more simple style rather than a huge puffy ball gown like the one she wore during her last marriage to Kris Humphries. The couple looked so happy together, and I’m pretty sure that was the first time I actually saw Kanye smile,” said junior Cori Haider.

Andrea Bocelli sang “Con te Partirò” as Kim walked down the aisle to be married to Kanye in front of a massive wall of flowers.

Superstar Lana Del Rey also performed her song “Young and Beautiful” at the wedding for free, saying, “I would never let a friend pay me to sing a song at their wedding.”

The wedding vows were traditional and spoken in soft, hushed tones with Kim smiling the whole time. The guests erupted into applause during the first kiss and the first appearance as husband and wife at the reception.

The reception greeted guests with a four-course meal and a seven-tiered wedding cake. Kim changed into a short, cream-colored Balmain dress, and was given a 20 minute speech by her new husband.

What more could a girl want?!

Oh yeah, and their good friend John Legend serenaded the newlyweds with his hit song “All of Me” during their first dance. If that does not sound like every teenage girl’s fantasy wedding, I do not know what does.

“I thought it was so cool how [Kim and Kanye] kept the ceremony so low key so people can only guess what actually went on. I am so jealous Lana Del Rey sang at their wedding! It also must have been so romantic when John sang ‘All of Me’ during their first dance as husband and wife. They are the most talked about couple in the world, so it makes sense they would have one of the most fabulous and expensive weddings of the decade,” said senior Kylie Scannella.

What do you think about Kimye’s wedding? Was it just as fabulous as you thought it was going to be?
