Mindless Behavior is an American boy band best known for their R&B grooves, pop hooks, and hip-hop swag.
The teen quartet composed of Prodigy, Ray Ray, Princeton, and Roc Royal have become a musical phenomenon with a swarm of screaming fans chasing after them.
The group was created in 2008 by Conjunction Entertainment Inc. CEO Walter Millsap and Streamline Records head Vincent Herbert. An open audition was held and out of 600 kids and the four stood out the most. Two years went by and they immersed themselves in music and created their own unique sound and style.
The bond between the boys was instantly kinetic from the moment they were chosen to be in a band together. Each member of the band possess something unique, including dance moves and 21st century fashion sensibility.
Prodigy has incredible dance moves and vocal chords. Ray Ray’s mentor was a legendary L.A. battle dancer Tommy the Clown, and this where he learned his unbelievable dance techniques. At the age eight years old, Roc Royal started his own rap. Princeton started off his career at the age of four, starring in commercials such as Sketchers, Nike, and McDonalds.
“We clicked from the first day we met because we all love music and performing. On stage, we go all out,” says Princeton.
Their sophomore album, “All Around The World”, was released on March 12 with a full-length documentary & concert movie of the same name, which opened at AMC Theatres on March 15. This documentary shows never-before-seen footage that their fans have never experienced. It gives fans a look at the making of Mindless Behavior from the very beginning, letting them follow the lives of Prodigy, Roc Royal, Princeton, and Ray Ray as they chased their dreams when they were very young. This film also includes live performances of Mindless Behavior’s hits such as “Girls Talkin’ Bout” and “Mrs. Right”, filmed during their Girl Tour in Atlanta.
“My favorite song by Mindless Behavior is definitely “Mrs. Right”. It’s so catchy and the video is so cute,” said sophomore Brooke Thaxton.
This new album is so energetic, anyone will get so pumped listening to it. Almost all their tracks are very upbeat and include many dance bangers. There will also be a deluxe version for “All Around The World” that will have four additional tracks and an album cover
Mindless Behavior went from touring high schools to sold out tours for Justin Bieber and the Backstreet Boys.
In 2010, their first single, “My Girl” was released and received almost 14 million views on YouTube, and was nominated for the “Viewer’s Choice” BET award in 2011. The second hit, “Mrs. Right” continued to grab the attention of many fans, and within weeks it landed #1 on BET’s 106 and was the #1 added song on Urban Radio. It was also the most demanded video on Music Choice.
“All their new songs are so exciting. I love this group. There’s honestly no one like them. They have different qualities that other boy bands don’t have,” said sophomore Christa Tomasulo.
