The season premier of “The Originals” aired on October 3 left fans thirsty for more.
“The Originals” is a spinoff for the hit series “The Vampire Diaries,” which premiered on The CW Network on September 10, 2009.
“The Vampire Diaries” has grown into the hearts of millions of fans nationwide. On October 3, season five premiered after a long summer break.
Fans of the show lucked out; thanks to The CW Network, they received two hours of their favorite entertainment. Right after “The Vampire Diaries” premiered, it was time for the spinoff show.
“I have been looking forward to watching ‘The Originals’ because ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is an amazing show. It has pumped me up so much and I am very excited to see what plot twists are going to happen. This show never fails to excite me,” said junior Shivam Patel.
Characters in “The Vampire Diaries” are made up of humans, werewolves, witches, immortal vampire hunters, ghosts, and vampires. Not all of the vampires are the same, because a select few are original vampires.
The original vampires are the first vampires that were ever created. Esther Mikaelson – the mother of Niklaus, Elijiah, Finn, Rebekkah, and Kol – was a witch who used her dark magic to make her family immortal.
Original vampires differ from regular vampires in many ways. The originals can only be killed in one way, or at least, one way that is known as of now. An original dies when someone drives a white oak stake is into his/her heart.
Not only will the original vampire die, but their blood line will die as well. In other words, every person who was turned into a vampire because of that original will drop dead on the spot.
Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), also known as Klaus, is the most powerful original. Klaus is not only an original vampire, but a werewolf as well. Klaus is known as a hybrid. The originals have lived for hundreds of years, and in those years, Klaus has found and burned down every white oak tree that he could find, making it nearly impossible to kill the original vampires.
Even though the original vampires cannot be killed, they can be put into a deep sleep, and stay comatose for as long as the stake is in their heart. Klaus brings coffins and stakes with him everywhere he goes, and when his siblings get on his nerves, he stakes them and keeps them asleep for as long as he wants, whether it is days or centuries.
“The Originals” is set in modern-day New Orleans. Klaus returns to New Orleans after being summoned by a witch who hopes that Klaus can help bring peace back to the supernatural beings of New Orleans.
When Klaus arrives in New Orleans, he is informed that a former one-night-stand with Haley (Phoebe Tonkin), a female werewolf, has caused her to become pregnant with his child.
Klaus’ former protegé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), has taken over New Orleans’ supernatural underworld. Klaus does not find this acceptable; he wants to be king of the town once again, just like he was a hundred years ago.
Elijah (Daniel Gilles) follows hi brother Klaus to New Orleans. He is willing do whatever he must to ensure that his brother becomes king of the town once again, and he keeps the unborn child safe in the process.
“The first two episodes have left me in awe, waiting for more. I cannot wait for the next episode. ‘The Originals’ is an addicting series. Once you watch one episode, you are thirsty for more,” said junior Richa Patel.
Within the first two episodes of the series, Klaus has already staked Elijah. The plot twists have begun. What’s going to happen next?
With two episodes already aired, the season is off to a great start. Will you be tuning in to The CW Network to watch “The Originals” this Tuesday?
